Self Care is Soul Care Part 1

Close your eyes. Raise your hand if at one point in time you felt insecure? Overwhelmed? Overlooked? Unheard? Mismanaged? Taken advantage of? Or any other emotion that is uncharacteristic of who God called you to be?

You can open them.

Typically, when we find ourselves in these moments, we are frustrated or angry because we either wonder how we got to that place or the fact that we let it get this far!

We hear the term self care and we immediately go into me time. I’m going to grab a book, hit the beach and listen to the waves brush across my feet. Or I’ll take a staycation by the pool and get some vitamin D.

Close your eyes again.

How many times had you come back from your me moment and were still left unfulfilled or even more tired than when you left and you find yourself needing a vacation from your vacation?

Ok, open your eyes.

You ever wondered why? Because we forgot that the best self care is soul care.
Soul care is the ongoing, ever evolving intentional work between you and Abba Father. Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.”

Regular interaction with God’s Word not only inspires our spiritual self; it refreshes our entire being!

We serve “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).

The Lord wants to transform us and renew our minds (Romans 12:2).

💛💛💛 The gift of understanding comes from the spirit of God, which in turn reveals to us the mind of God.💛💛💛

Your self care moment is to get in FG’s face to restore and replenish you. It’s a time to energize, not escape!

Being alone doesn’t hold us accountable. Being alone doesn’t positions us for greatness.

In Mark 6:31-32, we see Jesus noticing how the disciples hadn't eaten because they were serving the crowds. He calls them to follow Him and refuel themselves with some rest, which is what they needed.

Keep Growing x Glowing, y'all!
