Sacred Glow: Ending the Year with Peace, Presence, and Purpose
December seems to have a way of overwhelming us. The shopping lists, the family dynamics, the "new year, new me" mantras are creeping in. But what if this year, instead of rushing, you ended with peace, presence and purpose. So let me remind you, the best gift you can give to yourself is to slow down and savor.
Stress steals your shine faster than anything. Peace, though? Peace shows up on your skin, in your smile and your posture. Peace isn't absent of problems - it's the presence of God in the middle of them.
This month, light your candles, soak in your oils and pray, "Lord, let peace guard my heart and mind." The whole point is not to miss the moments during the hustle of the holiday season. Staying present means putting your phone to be in the moment, savor the laughter, sit in silence and look your loved ones in the eye. Presence is also being present for and with yourself. Listening when your body says, "I need rest". Honoring your temple when your spirit says, "I need a little quiet."
As you go throughout the remainder of the month, reflect on this year by asking yourself:
- What do I want to leave behind?
- What do I want to carry forward?
- Who did God show me that I am?
Then create a simple ritual, journal moisturize, pray. Bless your skin, bless your year, bless your future.
I want to admonish you. Do not drag yourself into the new year depleted. As a matter of fact, do not walk into tomorrow depleted. Make up your mind that you will go into your next moment, next hour, day, week or year glowing with peace, anchored in His presence and clear on your purpose. That's the sacred glow that will carry you into wherever or whatever you walk into next.
I can't wait to hear what your 'next' evolves into!
